According to news reports on Monday, Twitter – the micro-blogging social media platform, is going to introduce new advertising policies in next two weeks. From the sources, it is also said that Twitter is all set to ban the advertisements on cryptocurrencies, Initial coin offerings, Token sales, and other financial services.
This news seems to be valid, as recently Google has announced a ban on advertisements for cryptocurrencies and speculative financial products. Google has also confirmed that the bans on such ads will be implemented from the start of June. Google’s Director of Sustainable Ads, Scott Spencer, stated that “We have already updated our advertisement policies over speculative financial products like foreign exchange markets, Initial coin offerings, contracts, cryptocurrencies and others. The bans will come to action from June itself.”

Google has always been strict towards its advertising policies. In 2017, it has been observed that Google banned more than 3.2 billion ads, for violating the advertisement policies. According to Google, the advertisement policies are designed, so that the customers can get to know and discover the best things in the Internet world. But, if the advertisements are leading to scams and misleading, then it’s high time, they should be banned.

Before that, Facebook had already banned advertisements promoting cryptocurrencies and ICOs in January. Rob Leathern, Product Management Director at Facebook, explained that “The companies which are associated with online advertisements of cryptocurrencies, do not operate in good faith. To avoid any inconveniences regarding financial loss, we have decided to ban such financial product’s advertisements.”
Till now, there has been no confirmation from Twitter’s official post. But the decisions implemented by the online giants indicate that the rumors regarding Twitter’s advertisement bans are also true for sure.
